I went and got fitted at the Blue Mile for my new running shoes (big Thank you to my husband for funding that investment). I very much recommend heading over there if you are in the market for good running shoes. The salesperson was very understanding and really wanted to be sure I found the perfect fit and offered me many options in a wide variety of prices. Make no mistake, it wasn't cheap, but I feel much better and can run longer.
My parents came down this week and brought their unused treadmill. I cannot wait to try it out with my new shoes. In other news...I am down 11lbs! I even had the balls to post the little tracker on the blog...now you know my actual poundage. I am feeling like it will be hard to fail since everyone seems to be pulling for me. My friends at work who encourage me to workout at lunch and eat healthy (Kristen &JT). My hubby for funding many of my new "working out purchases" and my parents for the Zumba and treadmill!

3lbs down
I am down 3lbs...9lbs total. That's great for me! I just can't celebrate with a big bowl of ice cream. Instead I am hitting the gym again. I failed this week by only going twice-that means I have to work out at least once this weekend. My parents are bringing the treadmill next week, so I will have the ability to work out much more. Plus, I have Zumba for the Wii now too. I got it up and running and created a profile, but then Carson got fussy so I had to tend to his needs. I think I put him in his exersaucer while I Zumba it will work out a lot better. Also, new shoes are on the agenda for this weekend. Dennis doesn't know it yet, but who doesn't love a surprise? I will keep you posted...in the meantime...it's time to jog.

Hit the ground running...literally.
Between balancing a 9 month old, two dogs, a house, working 40 hours a week-all by myself, I have been really trying to lose weight. I saw photos of myself over the Holidays. It wasn't pretty. In fact, I looked like I was pregnant (which I AM NOT). I felt so pathetic. I asked myself, "what is the quickest way to lose this weight?" Answer cut calories and run. So, I have been tracking my meals-very successfully I might add. Also, I have run 3 miles this week so far. That is pretty good for someone who is pulling a train behind them!

Fresh Start...
Obviously, I haven't been great with two things.
1. keeping up on this blog
2. losing weight, hence my reluctance to actually write about my failure
Since, we have essentially tipped our lives upside down once again. I have decided to take control of my eating and start working out-for everyone's sanity. One of my friends at work showed me an app that tracks my exercise and food intake. I tried doing it last week just to get the hang of it. I really like the app because it works on my phone at my computer. So, there is no excuse not to track my progress. It is called Fat Secret for anyone that is interested.
I have also joined the Biggest Loser contest on the website. It starts next Monday. I am pretty excited to do this because I am incredibly competitive. I really want to be healthy for my son and my family. So, I am getting serious about this weight loss thing.
I am off to the gym...and I am pretty excited about it too. :0)
